Enveloped in the epoch of the Dreamtime, the Gariwerd (traditional Jardwadjali peoples name for the Grampians), is a magical land.

Astoundingly beautiful and dramatic landscapes, vistas and native wildlife – our journey absorbs us in a state of reconnection and reflection in nature – in an almost other-worldly spirit of an ancient indigenous presence.

Magical Moments

  • Our approach - from the South - takes in the most stunning aspects of the Grampians Ranges
  • Locally inspired lunch in a village with a stunning backdrop
  • Awaken to native wildlife on your doorstep
  • Stunning walks at the best times through ancient lands
  • Discover rock art more than 20,000 years old.

A natural paradise, the Grampians can only be done justice over more than a single day. Our experience focuses on nature and our reconnection with it so most of our time is spent outdoors.

Ballarat – the capital of the famous ‘Golden Triangle’ of townships of the gold rush era and birthplace of democracy in Australia is our first stop on the way to Dunkeld where we will enjoy a destination lunch at its finest at the Royal Mail Hotel with the stunning Mt. Sturgeon as its neighbour.

After lunch, we will seek out the fabulous native wildlife as we arrive in Halls Gap and take in the township.

Over the course of the next two days we will take you on a variety of fabulous walks of varying grades – and the choice is entirely up to you at which level you wish to engage.

From beautiful waterfalls to cliff edge views, no matter your choice every encounter is incredibly rewarding and liberating.

It is a truly moving experience to be in the presence of the oldest known aboriginal rock art in Victoria as we seek out their secluded homes – a reminder of a distant past and the timelessness of the land.

Halls Gap – nestled between towering sandstone escarpments formed in a time when the shores lapped this area of Australia is a stunning place to overnight. An early morning walk around town will be well rewarded with the sights and sounds of nature awakening…..

This is an awe-inspiring experience on every level. Emotionally awakening, exhilarating, spiritually invigorating and even potentially exhausting it is the perfect antidote to our busy, noise filled lives……
