- Wander in amongst our native creatures in a unique open range guided experience

- Witness the world’s smallest penguins nightly journey home
A focus on fun, learning a little bit more about our precious native creatures and up close experiences is what our day is all about.
Please not, as the Penguins arrive at last light, the order of our day changes with the seasons
Our native animal experiences begin with our visit to a fabulous open range nature park. As a protection to the animals the owners of this fabulous park generally deny entry to group operators but have kindly allowed us access as an appreciation of our company’s nature respect and focus on this experience.
Home to over 100 species of native animals, come with us on an immersive ‘meet the animals’ experience (or you can wander alone if you prefer) throughout the expansive property, walking amongst grazing Kangaroos, curious Emus, shy Wallabies, black swans, Cape Barron Geese along with fun and educational encounters with Koalas, Tasmanian Devils, Wombats and more…..
We visit the main township of Cowes to enjoy its costal aspect and for those who wish to have a meal before arriving at the Penguin Centre.
As we make our way to the outer edge of the Island, at the Nobbies region we will take you on an exploration of the Little Penguins habitat – in search of those who didn’t venture out the night before – and explain a day in the life of these little wonders so that you are best equipped to appreciate what you will witness at the Parade later in the evening.
A cliff top drive around the wild side of the island as we approach the Parade Centre completes the Penguin story. Looking for the Wedge-Tailed Eagle and other birds of prey that the Penguins are hope to avoid before emerging from the sea, we will show you the parade grounds from above and give you great hints and tips on how best to enjoy your experience.
Our intention is to arrive as early as possible to get you the best vantage point or enjoy all the centre has to offer if you prefer.
We are most often the last ones leaving the centre giving you the maximum time to enjoy this natural wonder. It’s not just about their emerging from the ocean, it’s also about following them on their journey all the way back to their burrows and we don’t want you to miss a thing!
If the skies are clear, just before we leave we will have a quick tour of the Universe(!) as the Milky Away is a stunning sight in the darkness of the Parades diminishing light…..
